Purchased this from my audiologist -- and I'm returning it. In summary:
Weight of ELI receiver causes h/a to hang differently and chafe. I can't wear it more than a couple of hours at a time (so not as useful for phone calls).
People on the other end of phone conversation often had trouble hearing me, making it nearly useless for phone.
Switching between devices (2 bluetooth phones, the blupal transmitter) is clumsy.
Sound quality is often "scratchy".
I liked having direct feed from TV, using dai+mic enhanced my listening experience. This was about the only thing I used it for that I liked ... and this just isn't enough.
I have purchased the BluPal/Eli system; it works great through the Bluetooth option on my phone, but I am having some trouble getting the BluPal microphone to live up to its promise; I've been fighting with serious static and volume issues. Potential buyers should be aware of a couple of things: First, in my experience, the BluPal/Eli connection process requires taking my hearing aid out and spending several minutes pressing buttons and checking blinking lights on both devices, so it's hardly inconspicuous or quick, both of which I value, especially when I'm using it in a professional setting. Secondly, switching between devices (i.e., phone to BluPal mic) is clumsy, and seems to require turning the mic or phone off or on, rather being able to simply toggle between devices. My primary complaint, however, is that the batteries for both the Eli and the BluPal must be recharged after about 2.5 hours; a serious limitation in my world where meetings can last all day. When I can get the technology to work, I like it, but I'd probably advise buyers to wait for the next version when some of these bugs are worked out.
It's "Direct Audio Input". Somebody made up that "data access interface"; never heard of it.
I believe DAI should be Direct Audio Interface, which is actually a boot that installs on most BTE instruments. BluePal should be great once it is released.
Where can I purchase this ear phone?
